Product Overview

The Draper Access V is a motorized, tab-tensioned projection screen engineered for ceiling-recessed installation in commercial AV environments. This configuration pairs a 240" NTSC (4:3) format image area with the CineFlex CH1200V viewing surface — a 1.2-gain ambient-light-resistant material suited for rooms where some ambient light is present. The 110V motor includes the LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller for integration with Crestron, Control4, Extron, AMX, and other commercial AV control systems. The plenum-rated case is UL-listed for use in air-handling ceiling spaces, and the concealed housing keeps the screen out of sight when not in use.

Product Description

The Access V has been Draper's benchmark ceiling-recessed motorized screen for commercial AV integrators for over two decades. The "case now, screen later" installation method allows the housing to be set and wired during rough-in, protecting the screen surface until the room is ready for finish AV work. The motor-in-roller assembly and screen drop in via preset latching roller brackets and electrical pin connectors once the case is in place.

The CineFlex CH1200V surface provides a 1.2 gain with ambient light rejection characteristics, making it appropriate for spaces where full blackout conditions are not achievable — conference rooms with exterior windows, multi-purpose rooms with variable lighting, and other commercial environments where some ambient light is expected during presentations. Draper's tab-tensioning system keeps the surface flat across the full image area and is warranted against separation for five years. The bottom access panel redesign allows it to hang open during service or detach fully for maintenance.

The plenum-rated case meets UL requirements for air-handling ceiling spaces. Built-in control options including low voltage, quiet motor, and video interface can be factory-installed. The case accommodates screens up to 20" wider than the standard case length. Custom sizes within the 16' maximum image width are available from Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Ceiling-recessed concealed design — Screen fully hidden above the ceiling tile when retracted.
  • Case now, screen later installation — Housing installs during rough-in; screen drops in later via preset latching brackets and pin connectors.
  • CineFlex CH1200V viewing surface — 1.2 gain, ambient-light-resistant; provides brighter images in rooms with controlled but non-zero ambient light.
  • 240" NTSC (4:3) format — Traditional AV format suited for legacy content, classrooms, and large-format mixed-media presentations.
  • LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller — Direct integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and other commercial AV control platforms.
  • Motor-in-roller design — Quiet, smooth operation with motor contained within the roller assembly.
  • Plenum-rated case — UL-listed as "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space."
  • 5-year tab tensioning warranty — Single-piece RF-welded tabs warranted against separation for five years.
  • Bottom access panel — Redesigned hinge allows panel to hang open or detach for maintenance access.
  • Quick-connect wiring — Pin-based connections allow case rough-in before screen installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the CineFlex CH1200V surface different from other Access V surfaces?
The CH1200V has a 1.2 gain and ambient-light-resistant characteristics, making it suitable for rooms where some ambient light is present — such as conference rooms with windows or spaces where full blackout is not practical.

What AV control systems does the LVC-IV support?
Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and most commercial platforms that output low-voltage relay or RS-232 signals. No proprietary gateway required.

Can the case be installed before the screen arrives?
Yes. The case installs during construction rough-in; the screen drops in later via preset latching brackets and pin connectors.

Is the Access V case plenum-rated?
Yes. UL-listed as "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space."

Can the screen be installed in a case wider than the screen?
Yes. Screens may be installed in cases up to 20" wider than the standard case length.

What is the warranty?
One year on the product; five years on tab tensioning. Contact Creation Networks for service support.

Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Within the 16' (488 cm) maximum image width. Contact Creation Networks for pricing.
