Product Overview

The Draper Access V is a ceiling-recessed, tab-tensioned motorized projection screen engineered for permanent commercial AV installations that demand a flat, wrinkle-free image. This 150" diagonal HDTV (16:9) model conceals completely into the ceiling when retracted and deploys a tab-tensioned surface held taut on all sides for precise geometry in boardrooms, training rooms, and lecture halls. As a plenum-rated Series V screen, it is suitable for installation in air-handling spaces above the ceiling. Supplied by Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's standard warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Access V tab-tensioned projection screen is specified by integrators who need a permanently flat viewing surface in a concealed, ceiling-recessed housing. Unlike free-hanging Series E screens, the Access V is a Series V tab-tensioned screen: the fabric is tensioned laterally with tabs and a formed cable system so the image stays flat and free of waves across the full surface, which matters for edge-to-edge focus and keystone-corrected content. The compact case measures 7-3/8" high by 8-1/16" deep including the trim flange and supports image widths up to 16' (488 cm), with the image area fully framed in black and a standard 12" (30 cm) black drop at the top for alignment flexibility. A quick-connect wiring system lets the case be installed early in construction and the screen added later to prevent job-site damage, while a detachable bottom access panel allows service without visible fasteners. The housing is plenum-rated (UL approved for use in environmental air-handling spaces), and low-voltage, video-interface, or other control options can be built into the housing for below-ceiling access. Motor control uses a 110V three-position switch as standard, with quiet, low-voltage, and 220V motor options for integration with AV control systems. The Access V accepts a wide range of Draper surfaces, from standard Matt White XT1000VB to TecVision engineered surfaces, ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) options, and acoustically transparent ClearSound NanoPerf for behind-screen loudspeakers. Pair it with a unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system, and browse the full Draper projection screen lineup or our wider projection screens range for alternate sizes, formats, and surfaces. Key Features

  • Tab-tensioned flat surface — The Series V tensioning system holds the viewing surface taut on all sides for a wave-free image and consistent edge-to-edge focus.
  • Ceiling-recessed concealment — The case installs into the ceiling and hides the screen completely when retracted for a clean architectural finish.
  • Plenum-rated housing — UL approved for use in environmental air-handling spaces, simplifying installation above finished ceilings.
  • Compact case — At 7-3/8" high by 8-1/16" deep including trim flange, the housing fits tight ceiling plenums while supporting image widths up to 16' (488 cm).
  • Two-stage installation — Quick-connect wiring lets the case go in during construction and the screen be added later to avoid job-site damage.
  • Serviceable bottom access panel — A detachable panel allows maintenance without visible fasteners once installed.
  • Wide surface selection — Compatible with Matt White XT1000VB, TecVision engineered and ALR surfaces, and acoustically transparent ClearSound NanoPerf options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Access V a tensioned screen?

Yes. The Access V is a Draper Series V screen with a tab-tensioning system that holds the surface flat on all sides. This produces a wave-free image with consistent edge-to-edge focus, which is preferable to a free-hanging surface for permanent, high-visibility installations.

Is the housing safe to install above a ceiling in an air-handling space?

Yes. The Access V case is plenum-rated and UL approved for use in environmental air-handling spaces, so it can be installed in ceiling plenums where local codes require plenum-rated equipment.

How is the Access V installed?

It is a ceiling-recessed screen. Its quick-connect wiring lets the case be installed early in construction, with the tensioned screen added later to prevent job-site damage. A detachable bottom access panel provides service access without visible fasteners.

What projectors and mounts are compatible?

Any commercial front projector matched to a 150" 16:9 image and your room's throw distance will work. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

Can it integrate with an AV control system?

Yes. In addition to the standard 110V three-position switch, low-voltage and video-interface control options can be built into the housing for below-ceiling access, allowing the screen to be triggered by a control processor alongside projectors, lifts, and shades.

What surface options are available, including acoustically transparent surfaces?

The Access V accepts a broad range of Draper surfaces: standard Matt White XT1000VB, TecVision engineered and ambient-light-rejecting (ALR) surfaces, and acoustically transparent ClearSound NanoPerf surfaces for placing loudspeakers behind the screen. Contact us for help matching a surface to your room and projector.

What warranty and support are included?

The Access V carries Draper's 5-year manufacturer warranty and is UL Listed, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
