Product Overview
The Draper Access V with ClearSound NanoPerf XT1000V surface is a motorized, ceiling-recessed tab-tensioned projection screen designed for commercial AV installations that integrate in-screen speaker systems. The ClearSound NanoPerf XT1000V surface uses a micro-perforated fabric construction to pass sound through the screen, allowing loudspeakers to be positioned directly behind the image plane for optimal audio-visual alignment—critical for high-end boardrooms, auditoriums, and AV systems where sound localization to the screen is architecturally required. The 1.0 gain surface maintains standard brightness levels while delivering full acoustic transparency. The plenum-rated, UL-Listed housing fits standard above-ceiling construction without additional enclosures.
Product Description

The ClearSound NanoPerf XT1000V surface enables speaker-behind-screen (SBS) setups in commercial AV environments. By placing loudspeakers directly behind the screen, sound appears to originate from the screen itself—eliminating the perceptual disconnect between image and audio source that occurs with side-mounted or ceiling-mounted speakers. This configuration is architecturally preferred in executive boardrooms, simulation rooms, and high-end AV integrations where spatial accuracy is part of the design specification.
The NanoPerf micro-perforation pattern is engineered to maintain a 1.0 gain on the viewing surface while minimizing acoustic coloration and high-frequency roll-off. The perforations are small enough to remain visually imperceptible at normal viewing distances, preserving image quality without the visual artifacts associated with larger perforated surfaces.
The Access V housing provides full ceiling recessing for complete screen concealment when retracted—appropriate for spaces where an unobstructed ceiling is expected outside of presentation use. The bottom flange trims the ceiling opening cleanly without additional millwork. Draper's case-now, screen-later installation method allows the housing to be set during rough-in construction; the screen assembly (including motor-in-roller and ClearSound NanoPerf XT1000V surface) is stored safely until the space is ready for AV commissioning, then snapped into preset latching brackets and pin connectors.
The single-piece RF-welded tab-tensioning system maintains a consistently flat image plane. Tabs are warranted for five years against separation. The optional Quiet Motor reduces operational noise. The optional LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller provides dry-contact integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and other AV control systems. Both options must be specified at time of order. Custom sizes and 220V motor configurations are available.
Key Features
- ClearSound NanoPerf XT1000V Surface (1.0 Gain) — Acoustically transparent micro-perforated fabric enables speaker-behind-screen (SBS) configurations without visible perforation artifacts at normal viewing distances.
- Speaker-Behind-Screen Compatibility — Allows loudspeakers to be positioned directly behind the image plane for spatially accurate audio-visual alignment in high-end AV systems.
- Ceiling-Recessed, Full-Concealment Design — Screen fully hides in ceiling when retracted; bottom flange trims opening for clean architectural finish.
- Tab-Tensioned, RF-Welded System — Flat, uniform image plane critical for consistent image quality across the perforated surface. Tabs warranted 5 years against separation.
- Case-Now, Screen-Later Installation — Housing installs during rough-in construction; screen assembly clicks in later to prevent job site damage to the acoustically transparent surface.
- Compact Case Profile — 7-3/8" H × 8-1/16" D including trim flange; fits standard above-ceiling construction without custom framing.
- Quiet Motor Option — Reduces deployment and retraction noise in acoustically sensitive environments.
- LVC-IV Low Voltage Controller Option — Dry-contact integration with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4; built into housing below ceiling when specified at order.
- Plenum-Rated, UL-Listed Housing — Approved for environmental air-handling ceiling spaces; meets commercial building code requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I place speakers behind the ClearSound NanoPerf surface?
Yes. That is its primary design purpose. The micro-perforations allow sound to pass through freely, enabling speaker-behind-screen configurations for spatially accurate audio-visual alignment.
Will the perforations be visible during projection?
The NanoPerf micro-perforation pattern is designed to be imperceptible at normal viewing distances.
Can the LVC-IV controller integrate with Crestron or Extron?
Yes. The LVC-IV accepts dry-contact low-voltage inputs compatible with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Control4, and other building automation systems. Specify at time of order.
Is the Access V housing plenum-rated?
Yes. The case is UL Listed as Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space.
Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Contact Creation Networks for pricing on custom sizes and 220V motor configurations.
