Product Overview

The Draper Access E is a ceiling-recessed, electric acoustically transparent projection screen configured here as a 94" 16:10 model with the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface. Built for permanent commercial AV installations where loudspeakers sit behind the image plane, this in-ceiling motorized projection screen conceals completely into the ceiling when retracted for a clean architectural finish. The woven XT900E surface delivers a 0.9 gain image across a 180° viewing cone while passing center-channel and surround audio through the screen. Supplied by Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's 5-year warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Access E ceiling-recessed screen is engineered for integrators specifying a concealed, motorized image surface in boardrooms, classrooms, and worship spaces. It is a free-hanging Series E (non-tensioned) screen: flatness is maintained by the weight of the viewing surface and a bottom dowel, and the assembly drops from a recessed case that installs into a ceiling pocket with a trim flange for a finished appearance. The ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface is an acoustically transparent woven material with acoustic properties comparable to high-quality speaker grille cloth, letting sound from behind-screen loudspeakers reach the audience with an average insertion loss of only 0.7 dB. Because woven surfaces reveal their weave up close, Draper recommends a minimum viewing distance of 10' (305 cm). The case measures 7-3/8" high x 8-1/16" deep (19 cm x 20 cm) including the trim flange, ships white as standard with black available on request, and includes a detachable bottom access panel for service and adjustable hoisting brackets for lifting during installation. Quick-connect wiring lets the case be installed early in the build and the screen added later, and this unit is configured with a 110V quiet low-voltage motor for near-silent operation in occupied rooms. Sliding brackets on top of and inside the case simplify mounting and screen alignment, and low-voltage, video-interface, or third-party controls can be built into the housing for below-ceiling access. Pair it with a unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system, and browse the full Draper projection screen lineup for alternate sizes and surfaces. Key Features

  • Acoustically transparent woven surface — The ClearSound White Weave XT900E lets audio from behind-screen loudspeakers pass through with an average insertion loss of only 0.7 dB.
  • Ceiling-recessed concealment — The screen and case drop from a ceiling pocket and disappear from view when retracted for a finished architectural look.
  • 0.9 gain, 180° viewing cone — Delivers uniformly bright, accurate images across wide commercial seating layouts in controlled-light rooms.
  • Free-hanging non-tensioned design — Flatness is maintained by the weight of the surface and a bottom dowel, keeping the Series E surface flat without tab-tensioning.
  • Quiet 110V motor — The low-voltage quiet motor option supports near-silent operation for boardrooms and classrooms in use.
  • Detachable bottom access panel — Opens for straightforward service and maintenance without removing the full case.
  • Quick-connect wiring — Allows the case to be installed early in construction and the screen added later, easing project scheduling.
  • Control-system ready — Low-voltage, video-interface, or third-party controls (including Crestron and Control4) can be built into the housing for below-ceiling access.
  • Draper 5-year warranty through an authorized dealer — Supplied by Creation Networks with full manufacturer warranty coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface fully acoustically transparent?

Yes. It is a woven surface with acoustic properties comparable to high-quality speaker grille cloth, with over 76,000 microscopic openings per square foot and an average insertion loss of only 0.7 dB. This lets loudspeakers positioned behind the screen deliver sound directly through the image plane. Draper recommends a minimum viewing distance of 10' (305 cm) so the weave stays invisible to the audience.

How is the Access E installed in a ceiling?

It is a ceiling-recessed screen that installs into a ceiling pocket, with a trim flange for a finished appearance. Adjustable hoisting brackets assist lifting during installation, and sliding brackets on top of the case allow mounting adjustment. Quick-connect wiring lets the case be installed early and the screen added later.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with this screen?

The Access E works with any commercial front projector matched to its 94" 16:10 format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

Does the quiet motor integrate with control systems?

Yes. This unit uses a 110V quiet low-voltage motor, and low-voltage, video-interface, or third-party controls (including Crestron and Control4) can be built into the housing for below-ceiling access, allowing the screen to be tied into a room automation system.

Why choose an acoustically transparent screen for a boardroom or worship space?

An acoustically transparent screen lets integrators place center and surround loudspeakers directly behind the image, keeping dialogue and effects anchored to the picture. This is ideal for auditoriums, houses of worship, and briefing rooms where both a concealed screen and centered audio matter.

What warranty and support are included?

The Access E carries Draper's 5-year warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
