Product Overview

The Draper Access E is an electric, ceiling-recessed projection screen for permanent commercial AV installations that need a concealed motorized image with loudspeakers placed behind the screen. This 92" diagonal HDTV (16:9) model uses the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface, an acoustically transparent projection screen material that lets sound pass through from behind-screen speakers. As a free-hanging Series E screen, it hangs flat under the weight of the viewing surface and bottom dowel rather than tab-tensioning, and ships with a low-voltage LVC-IV motor for integration with commercial control systems. All units are supplied by Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's standard warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Access E acoustically transparent screen is engineered for integrators who need a concealed, ceiling-recessed image surface with center-channel or full-range audio positioned directly behind the picture. The steel case measures 7-3/8" high by 8-1/16" deep (19 cm x 20 cm) including the trim flange and installs above the ceiling line, leaving only a narrow closure visible. This configuration pairs the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface, a finely woven acoustically transparent material with 0.9 gain and a 180° viewing cone whose acoustic properties are comparable to high-quality speaker grille cloth, so dialogue and imaging stay anchored to the on-screen content. A detachable bottom access panel door allows service of the roller and motor without removing the case, and quick-connect wiring lets the case be installed early with the screen added later in the build. The case is plenum-rated (UL classified "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space") for installation in commercial return-air plenums, and the assembly is UL Listed. The low-voltage LVC-IV motor supports clean integration with commercial control systems, and mounting is flexible: the case accepts 3/8" threaded rod, lag screws, or wire in a grid ceiling, with sliding brackets to clear structural obstructions. This makes the Access E a strong fit for boardrooms, briefing centers, and small auditoriums that combine front projection with behind-screen loudspeakers. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system. Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ClearSound White Weave XT900E surface acoustically transparent?

Yes. It is a finely woven acoustically transparent material with acoustic properties comparable to high-quality speaker grille cloth, so sound from loudspeakers positioned behind the screen passes through while the surface maintains a bright, accurate image. Some control of ambient light is recommended for best results.

Is the Access E a tensioned screen?

No. The Access E is a Draper Series E free-hanging screen; the non-tensioned surface hangs flat under the weight of the viewing surface and bottom dowel. If you need a tab-tensioned acoustically transparent surface, consider a Series V model such as the Access V.

What does the LVC-IV motor provide?

The LVC-IV is a low-voltage motor option that supports clean integration with commercial control systems and low-voltage switching, which is useful when the screen is tied into a room control processor.

Can the case be installed in a return-air plenum?

Yes. The steel case is plenum-rated and UL-classified "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space," so it can be installed in the return-air plenums common above commercial ceilings. The full assembly is also UL Listed.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with the Access E?

It works with any commercial front projector matched to its 92" HDTV format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

What warranty and support are included?

The Access E carries Draper's standard 5-year manufacturer warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
