Product Overview

The Draper Access E is an electric, ceiling-recessed projection screen engineered for permanent commercial AV installations where the screen must disappear when not in use. This 11' wide NTSC (4:3) model recesses into a ceiling pocket and lowers a free-hanging viewing surface, making it a clean fit for boardrooms, higher-education classrooms, and training rooms. Built on Draper's non-tensioned Series E platform, it holds a flat image using the weight of the surface and a bottom dowel rather than tab-tensioning. This unit ships with Draper's Quiet Motor to reduce operational noise during deployment and retraction.

Product Description

The Draper Access E electric projection screen is specified by integrators who need a concealed front-projection surface in a finished ceiling. As a ceiling-recessed motorized screen, the case installs into the ceiling with a trim flange so nothing is visible once the surface retracts. Because this is a Series E free-hanging screen, the viewing surface is non-tensioned and hangs flat under its own weight and the bottom dowel, which keeps the mechanism simple and serviceable in long-term commercial deployments. The case can be mounted during the construction phase and wired using quick-connect wiring, allowing the viewing surface to be added later to avoid job-site damage. A detachable bottom access panel opens for service and maintenance without pulling the case out of the ceiling. Sliding brackets on top of and inside the case give the installer room to adjust alignment and accommodate different screen sizes. The white case is standard, with black available on request, and maximum image width across the model reaches 16' (488 cm) depending on surface selection. Controls start with a standard 110V, 3-position switch, with 220V and low-voltage options available for integration with third-party control systems such as Crestron and Control4. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket or lift from our projector mounts and lifts collection. Key Features

  • Ceiling-recessed concealment — The case recesses into the ceiling with a trim flange so the screen is completely hidden when retracted.
  • Free-hanging Series E surface — The non-tensioned viewing surface is held flat by its own weight and a bottom dowel, with no tab-tensioning to maintain.
  • Quiet Motor — This configuration uses Draper's Quiet Motor to minimize operational noise in boardrooms and classrooms.
  • Early case installation — The case mounts during construction with quick-connect wiring so the surface can be added later to prevent job-site damage.
  • Detachable bottom access panel — The bottom panel opens for service and maintenance without removing the case from the ceiling.
  • Adjustable mounting brackets — Sliding brackets on top of and inside the case allow alignment adjustment and accommodate different screen sizes.
  • Control-system ready — A 110V 3-position switch is standard, with 220V and low-voltage options for integration with Crestron, Control4, and similar systems.
  • Draper warranty through an authorized dealer — UL Listed and supplied by Creation Networks with Draper's 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Access E a tab-tensioned screen?

No. The Access E is a Draper Series E screen, which is free-hanging and non-tensioned. The viewing surface hangs flat under its own weight and a bottom dowel rather than using tab-tensioning, which keeps the roller mechanism simple and serviceable.

How is the Access E installed?

It is a ceiling-recessed electric screen. The case is set into a pocket in the ceiling with a trim flange for a finished look, and it can be mounted during construction with quick-connect wiring so the surface is added later to avoid job-site damage.

What projectors and mounts work with this screen?

It pairs with any commercial front projector matched to the 11' NTSC (4:3) format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

Does this unit run quieter than a standard motor?

Yes. This configuration ships with Draper's Quiet Motor, which reduces the operational noise of raising and lowering the screen — useful in boardrooms and classrooms where audio clarity matters.

Can it integrate with a Crestron or Control4 system?

The screen ships with a standard 110V 3-position switch, and 220V and low-voltage control options are available so integrators can tie it into third-party automation systems.

What warranty and support are included?

The Access E is UL Listed and carries Draper's 5-year manufacturer warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
