Product Overview

The Draper Access E is an electric, ceiling-recessed projection screen built for permanent commercial AV installations where the screen must disappear into the ceiling when not in use. This 100" diagonal HDTV (16:9) model uses the OptiView Matt White XT1000E surface at 1.0 gain, making it a clean fit for conference rooms, boardrooms, and training rooms that need a large, motorized image on demand. As a free-hanging Series E screen, it stays flat under the weight of the viewing surface and bottom dowel rather than tab-tensioning, and ships with a quiet low-voltage motor for discreet operation. All units are supplied by Creation Networks at authorized-dealer pricing with Draper's standard warranty.

Product Description

The Draper Access E electric projection screen is engineered for integrators specifying a concealed, ceiling-recessed image surface in finished commercial interiors. The steel case measures 7-3/8" high by 8-1/16" deep (19 cm x 20 cm) including the trim flange, and mounts above the ceiling line so only a narrow slot and closure are visible. A detachable bottom access panel door allows service and maintenance of the roller and motor without removing the case, and quick-connect wiring lets the case be installed early with the screen added later in the construction schedule. This 100" HDTV configuration pairs the Matt White XT1000E surface, a unity-gain (1.0) matt white material with a panoramic 180° viewing cone and typical contrast, well suited to rooms where ambient light is reasonably controlled. The case is plenum-rated (UL classified "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space"), so it can be installed in return-air plenums common to commercial ceilings, and the whole assembly is UL Listed. Mounting is flexible: the case accepts 3/8" threaded rod, lag screws, or wire in a grid ceiling, with sliding brackets that adjust to avoid structural interference. The quiet low-voltage motor keeps operation unobtrusive during meetings and presentations. This makes the Access E a practical fit for corporate meeting spaces, higher-education classrooms, and multi-purpose rooms that need a hidden, commercial-grade motorized screen. Pair it with a compatible unit from our commercial projectors collection and a bracket from our projector mounts and lifts collection to complete the system. Key Features

  • Ceiling-recessed concealment — The screen and case hide above the ceiling line, leaving only a low-profile closure visible when the screen is retracted.
  • Free-hanging Series E design — The non-tensioned surface hangs flat under the weight of the viewing surface and bottom dowel, keeping the picture even without tab-tensioning.
  • Matt White XT1000E surface — A unity-gain (1.0) matt white material delivers a 180° viewing cone and accurate color for wide seating layouts in light-controlled rooms.
  • Quiet low-voltage motor — Discreet operation keeps screen deployment from interrupting meetings and presentations.
  • Plenum-rated steel case — UL-classified for use in environmental air space, allowing installation in commercial return-air plenums.
  • Serviceable bottom access panel — A detachable panel door provides access to the roller and motor without pulling the case from the ceiling.
  • Quick-connect wiring — The case can be installed and wired early, with the screen fabric added later in the build schedule.
  • Flexible ceiling mounting — Accepts 3/8" threaded rod, lag screws, or wire in a grid ceiling, with sliding brackets to clear structural obstructions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Access E a tensioned screen?

No. The Access E is a Draper Series E free-hanging screen. The non-tensioned Matt White XT1000E surface hangs flat under the weight of the viewing surface and bottom dowel. If you require a tab-tensioned surface for a perfectly flat image at larger sizes, consider a Series V model such as the Access V.

Can the case be installed in a return-air plenum?

Yes. The steel case is plenum-rated and UL-classified "Suitable for Use in Environmental Air Space," so it can be installed in the return-air plenums common above commercial ceilings. The full assembly is also UL Listed.

What projectors and mounts are compatible with the Access E?

It works with any commercial front projector matched to its 100" HDTV format and your room's throw distance. Browse our commercial projectors and projector mounts and lifts, or contact us for a throw-distance calculation.

How is the Access E mounted?

The case is ceiling-recessed and can be suspended with 3/8" threaded rod, lag screws, or wire in a grid ceiling. Sliding brackets let installers shift the case to clear structural obstructions, and a detachable bottom access panel simplifies later service.

Can the case be installed before the screen is finalized?

Yes. Quick-connect wiring allows the case to be installed and wired early in construction, with the screen and motor added later, which helps coordinate the AV rough-in with the general building schedule.

What warranty and support are included?

The Access E carries Draper's standard 5-year manufacturer warranty, supplied through Creation Networks as an authorized dealer. Contact us at creationnetworks.net for pre-sale specification help and post-sale support.
