The TASCAM CA-XLR2d-C is the Canon digital kit variant of the CA-XLR2d XLR microphone adapter, designed for Canon mirrorless cameras and camcorders with a multi-function accessory shoe (including Canon EOS R3 and XF605). It transmits lossless digital audio directly into the camera via the Canon digital accessory shoe connection, bypassing the camera's analog microphone input for maximum audio fidelity. Two XLR/TRS combo inputs with HDDA preamps provide professional-grade microphone preamplification and 48V phantom power for condenser and dynamic microphones.

The CA-XLR2d-C was co-developed by TASCAM and Canon Inc. for seamless integration with Canon's digital accessory shoe ecosystem. The digital shoe connection transmits audio to the camera as lossless digital data, eliminating the noise, level mismatch, and impedance issues associated with analog 3.5mm camera inputs. HDDA preamps handle a wide dynamic range from quiet room tones to explosive events. Auto Level, Low Cut Filter, and Limiter provide in-field audio optimization without external processing. A 3.5mm stereo mini input accepts a third microphone or stereo source. A cold shoe on top mounts additional accessories, and the shock mount mechanism reduces handling noise and vibration.
