Product Overview
The Lightware UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20 is the receiver unit of Lightware's Taurus UCX TPX transmitter-receiver system, providing 3-input, 3-output matrix switching at the display end of an SDVoE-based AV extension run of up to 100 meters over a single CATx cable. It adds local HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.1 Gen1 connectivity at the display side for room PCs, wireless presentation systems, cameras, and speakerphones, extending the capabilities of the remote transmitter into the room with full USB host switching across up to 8 devices. Long-tail keywords: Lightware UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20 SDVoE HDBaseT receiver USB-C HDMI, 4K 60Hz AV over IP receiver matrix switcher meeting room, Lightware Taurus TPX receiver triple HDMI output.
Product Description
The UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20 connects to a compatible Lightware TPX transmitter (such as the UCX-2x1-TPX-TX20 or UCX-4x3-TPX-TX20) via a single CATx cable using Lightware's AVX/AVXT 10GBase-T protocol. Over this link it receives video, audio, USB 2.0, RS-232, GPIO, occupancy sensor data, and Ethernet in both directions. At the display end, the unit provides three independent HDMI 2.0 outputs for multi-display rooms, plus two local HDMI 2.0 inputs and two USB-B 3.1 host ports for room-resident equipment. The independent USB host switching layer manages up to 8 USB devices split across the transmitter (4x USB-A) and receiver (4x USB-A) sides, all controlled from a single switching event. Three independent Ethernet ports (1GBase-T) on the receiver support room LAN, device control, and corporate network access. Analog audio output via 5-pole Phoenix and RS-232/GPIO/OCS ports enable control system integration. The LARA automation platform runs locally, supporting welcome screens, display power control, and occupancy-triggered room routines without an external processor. Remote Syslog via TCP, UDP, or TLS integrates with enterprise SIEM platforms.

Key Features

Frequently Asked Questions
- What transmitter units are compatible with the UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20?
- Compatible transmitters include the UCX-2x1-TPX-TX20, UCX-4x3-TPX-TX20, UCX-4x3-TPX-TX30-R, and the HDMI-TPX-TX106/TX107 series. Always confirm compatibility with your Lightware reseller.
- What cable type is required between transmitter and receiver?
- A single CATx cable (Cat6 or better recommended for 10GBase-T at 100m) connects the TPX input on the receiver to the TPX output on the transmitter. PoE is not supported on the TPX link.
- Can the receiver operate as a standalone switcher without a transmitter?
- No. The UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20 requires a compatible TPX transmitter for its primary video source. The two local HDMI inputs provide supplemental source connectivity at the receiver end.
- How does USB host switching work across the TX/RX pair?
- The system maintains an independent USB host layer. Up to four host devices at the transmitter and four at the receiver can connect, with peripherals on either end accessible to any selected host. Switching is coordinated by the LARA platform or an external control system.
- Is a FIPS 140-2 version available for classified environments?
- Yes. The UCX-3x3-TPX-RX20-LCC includes NIST FIPS 140-2 certified Lightware CryptoCore for installations in classified government and defense environments.
- Can the LARA platform trigger display power based on room occupancy?
- Yes. The occupancy sensor port and CEC command injection at the HDMI outputs allow LARA scripts to power displays on and off automatically based on occupancy sensor state.
