Product Overview

The Blackmagic Design Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is an ultra-compact Ultra HD broadcast camera with a Micro Four Thirds mount, a low-light 4K sensor, and Generation 5 Color Science in a body not much larger than the lens mount itself. It offers 12G-SDI and HDMI for HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60, ATEM-compatible camera control, tally, a built-in DaVinci Resolve color corrector, and Blackmagic RAW recording to USB disks.

Product Description

The Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is designed to place cameras where full-size bodies won't fit, making it nearly invisible on set for extra angles in live production. A magnesium-alloy core houses a 4096×2160 sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range and ISO to 25,600 for clean images in dim venues, and Generation 5 Color Science plus a built-in DaVinci Resolve primary color corrector — controllable from the switcher — deliver cinematic live images. The active MFT mount works with affordable photographic lenses (and adapters for broadcast lenses), with optional focus and zoom demands for full lens control. Both HDMI and 12G-SDI carry video, tally, camera control, and record trigger using ATEM protocols, so it connects to ATEM Mini over HDMI or ATEM Constellation over SDI. A USB-C expansion port records 12-bit Blackmagic RAW to external disks or, with an adapter, enables REST-API control over Ethernet. Built-in stereo mics, a 3.5mm audio input, a tally light, LP-E6 battery support, and a localized Blackmagic OS in 13 languages round it out.

Typical Applications

Its tiny footprint makes the Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 ideal for hiding extra angles in broadcast studios, houses of worship, and auditoriums, as well as conference centers, all-hands rooms, and education spaces running ATEM live production. It also suits sports and event capture where discreet camera placement matters.
