Product Overview

The AdderLink XD150 is a high-performance single-link DVI KVM extender pair that carries uncompressed video, transparent USB 2.0, analog audio, and RS232 over a single CATx cable at distances up to 150 meters (500 feet). This listing supplies the XD150 transmitter and receiver set without a mains lead, suiting installations where a country-specific IEC cord is already on hand. As a DVI USB 2.0 KVM extender over CATx, the XD150 lets critical computers live in a secure, temperature-controlled room while the user keeps a real-time, every-pixel desktop — including support for high-speed USB devices such as touchscreens and mass storage.

Product Description

The XD150 system places a compact transmitter beside the host computer and a matching receiver at the user position. One run of shielded CATx cable carries everything between them: 1920x1200@60Hz DVI video extended uncompressed with every pixel of every frame transferred losslessly and in real time, USB 2.0 at low, full, and high speed (isochronous devices supported), CD-quality stereo audio, and RS232 serial via the options port at up to 115,200 baud.

AdderLink XD150 single-link DVI USB 2.0 KVM extender pair

Distance scales with resolution: a 1920x1080 screen extends up to 150m/500ft, while 1920x1200 reaches 100m/330ft, with CAT7 shielded cable recommended for resolutions above 1080p and shielded CAT5e or better acceptable at 1080p and below. The receiver's built-in 4-port USB hub connects keyboards, mice, tablets, touchscreens, and storage devices directly at the desk. EDID management passes the monitor's true characteristics back to the computer, a KVM switch mode improves compatibility when the extender feeds a KVM switch, and the whole system is flash-upgradeable from the computer end.

Both units use robust fanless metal enclosures with locking 3-pin DC power jacks; two 12V power adapters are included, while the IEC mains lead is not supplied with this variant. An optional 19-inch rackmount kit fits two units per 1U. Adder's RC4 remote key switch is also supported through the options port. Pick up mains leads, rack kits, and related extenders in the Adder Technology collection at Creation Networks.

Key Features

  • Uncompressed Real-Time Video — Every pixel of every frame is transferred with zero loss, preserving the at-the-PC experience at the remote desk.
  • Flexible Distance Options — Extends 1920x1080 up to 150m/500ft and 1920x1200 up to 100m/330ft over a single CATx run.
  • Transparent High-Speed USB 2.0 — Low, full, and high-speed devices including touchscreens, tablets, and mass storage connect through the receiver's built-in 4-port hub; isochronous devices are supported.
  • Single-Cable Infrastructure — Video, USB 2.0, audio, and RS232 share one CATx cable, simplifying pathways and containment.
  • RS232 Options Port — Serial passthrough to 115,200 baud, with support for Adder's RC4 remote key switch.
  • CD-Quality Analog Audio — Stereo 16-bit/44.1kHz audio transfers from local to remote line-out.
  • EDID Management and KVM Switch Mode — True monitor characteristics pass to the computer, and a dedicated mode improves compatibility behind KVM switches.
  • Locking Power Connectors — 3-pin locking DC jacks with two power adapters included prevent accidental disconnection.
  • Flash Upgradeable — The complete system updates from the computer end for future-proof maintenance.
  • Rack-Ready Fanless Design — Silent metal enclosures mount two-per-1U with the optional rack kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "no mains lead" mean for this listing?
The set includes both extender units and two 12V DC power adapters, but the IEC wall cord is not supplied. Use a standard IEC mains lead you already have, or add one when ordering.

How far can I run the extension?
Up to 150m/500ft for a 1920x1080 display or 100m/330ft at 1920x1200, using single lengths of trunk cable with up to two 2m CAT7a patch cables. CAT7 shielded cable is recommended above 1080p.

Does it support touchscreens and USB storage?
Yes. Unlike low/full-speed-only extenders, the XD150 carries high-speed USB 2.0, so touchscreens, tablets, mass storage, and isochronous devices work through the receiver's 4-port hub.

Can the XD150 sit behind a KVM switch?
Yes. A KVM switch mode is provided for optimal compatibility when the extender connects through a KVM switch rather than directly to a computer.

Is serial control available?
RS232 passes between the units through the options ports at up to 115,200 baud, and Adder's RC4 remote key switch is supported.

How is firmware updated?
The complete system is flash-upgradeable from the computer end via the transmitter's mini-USB port.
