The MX-8A routes any combination of 8 mic/line inputs to any of 8 line outputs, making it suited to installations where multiple audio sources — background music players, microphones, paging systems — must be routed to different areas of a venue. DSP on the input side includes a compressor, 4-band parametric EQ, auto level control, and a ducking function that automatically lowers background music when a microphone is active — useful for paging and announcement applications. Output DSP adds 10-band EQ, high-pass and low-pass filters, delay for loudspeaker time alignment, and a limiter for loudspeaker protection. The ambient noise compensator adjusts output level automatically based on measured background noise levels. TASCAM MX CONNECT is intended for system integrators configuring routing, DSP chains, and scene presets for the full installation; TASCAM EZ CONNECT gives end users a simplified interface for volume adjustments and source selection. The optional RC-W100-R120 wall-mount controller (R120 for US/Japan, R86 for Europe) provides physical front-of-room control with an LCD display, rotary encoder, and four push buttons. USB connectivity supports a 2-in/2-out computer audio interface function for system audio playback.
