Product Description
The Model 12 records up to 12 tracks simultaneously to SD/SDHC/SDXC card at 24-bit/48kHz without a computer, and serves simultaneously as a 10-in/10-out USB audio interface for DAW-based recording. Its mix-minus function outputs a dedicated mix for each remote guest that excludes their own audio, a standard requirement for podcast and interview recording with phone-in participants. A 3.5mm stereo smartphone input on the front panel allows a phone caller to be incorporated into a session without an adapter or preamp. TASCAM's HDDA mic preamps are on all XLR inputs with per-channel phantom power. One-knob compressors on selected channels provide quick dynamics management during live recording. The DAW controller function supports HUI/MCU transport control, keeping hands on hardware during tracking sessions. The optional AK-RM16 accessory converts the Model 12 to rack-mount format for installation deployments.
