Product Overview

The LEA Professional CS84 is a 4-channel, 320W Class-D rack-mount amplifier with onboard DSP and IoT-enabled management over Ethernet or built-in Wi-Fi, designed for commercial AV installations requiring compact, networked amplification without Dante. Delivering 80W per channel, the CS84 supports both Low-Z (2, 4, and 8 ohm) and Hi-Z (70V or 100V) distributed audio operation independently per channel, making it suitable for small multi-zone installations, boardrooms, training rooms, and government spaces where modest output and full network control are the primary requirements. It is managed remotely through the LEA Cloud platform via a standard web browser.

Product Description

The CS84 is built on LEA's proprietary Smart Power Bridge Technology, enabling bridged mono operation without permanently committing channels to a single output. Each of the four channels independently selects Low-Z (2, 4, or 8 ohm) or Hi-Z (70V or 100V) to support mixed system designs. An Analog Devices Sigma 96kHz DSP with a 32-bit core manages EQ, crossovers, signal delay, limiting, and routing, all accessible through the LEA web interface or the LEA Cloud platform.

Analog audio enters via balanced Amphenol Anytek 3-pin connectors on all four channels. Network control uses either a 100 Mbps Ethernet port or the built-in Wi-Fi (access-point mode or local network client mode). Three connectivity options — dedicated access point, join an existing venue Wi-Fi, or wired Ethernet via Cat5/Cat6 — give integrators flexibility in how the amplifier integrates into the site network. The universal SMPS power supply (100–240 VAC) ensures global compatibility, and front-to-rear variable-speed fan cooling keeps the unit thermally managed within a 1U, 19-inch rack footprint. The CS84 is well-suited to deployments where multiple amplifiers are stacked in a rack to cover many small zones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is 80W per channel sufficient for commercial meeting room loudspeakers?

For most commercial loudspeakers used in meeting rooms, boardrooms, and training rooms, 80W per channel is adequate. Commercial installation speakers in those environments typically have sensitivities between 88 and 96 dB/W/m, and rooms of 500–1500 square feet generally require less than 10W of average program power. The CS84 provides substantial headroom above those levels. For larger rooms or higher SPL requirements, consider the CS164 (160W/ch) or CS354 (350W/ch).

Q: What is the difference between the CS84 and the CS84D?

The CS84 connects via 100 Mbps Ethernet and built-in Wi-Fi and accepts analog audio inputs only. The CS84D adds dual Dante ports for networked digital audio transport and supports AES67 interoperability. If your installation does not require Dante and uses analog signal sources, the CS84 provides identical amplification and DSP at a lower cost.

Q: Can the CS84 join an existing venue Wi-Fi network rather than creating its own access point?

Yes. The CS84 supports three network connection modes: creating its own Wi-Fi access point, connecting to an existing venue Wi-Fi network as a client, or connecting via the 100 Mbps Ethernet port using a Cat5 or Cat6 cable to an existing switch or router. The connection mode is configured during initial setup.

Q: What input connectors does the CS84 use?

The CS84 uses Amphenol Anytek balanced 3-pin connectors for all four analog inputs. LEA Professional sells the XLRF adapter (female XLR to Amphenol Anytek) and the RCAF-2 two-pack (female RCA to Amphenol Anytek) to connect standard XLR or RCA sources without custom wiring.

Q: Can the CS84 be monitored for faults remotely?

Yes. When connected to the LEA Cloud platform, the CS84 reports fault conditions, output clip events, and temperature status in real time. Alerts can be monitored remotely from any internet-connected browser without on-site access, which is useful for multi-site deployments managed by a single integrator or IT team.
