Product Overview
The INOGENI TOGGLE ROOMS 4K is a professional BYOD/BYOM USB 3.0 and HDMI host switcher that enables two PCs — a room PC and a guest laptop — to share a conference room’s full peripheral set: USB cameras, videobars, audio devices, and display outputs. Connecting via a single USB-C cable (with 100W power delivery) or via USB-B plus HDMI for older laptops, the TOGGLE ROOMS routes three USB 3.0 peripherals and one HDMI display between up to three host connections with a push of a button or via control pad. Winner of Best of Show at ISE 2024 and the 2024 AV Award for Processing and Distribution Technology of the Year, the TOGGLE ROOMS is a purpose-built BYOD conference room switcher for Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and other permanent room system deployments. Manufactured in Canada and TAA-compliant, it includes a 5-year warranty for units purchased after August 1, 2024.
Product Description
In rooms equipped with a permanent AV system — a room PC running Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or a similar soft codec appliance — the TOGGLE ROOMS solves the BYOD/BYOM access problem by allowing a guest laptop to take full control of the room’s USB peripherals and display in one cable connection. The laptop connects via USB-C (with DP alternate mode, USB 3.0 data, and 100W charging delivered over a single cable) or via USB-B and HDMI for systems without USB-C. The room PC connects via USB-B and HDMI 2.0. When the guest laptop is selected, the room PC is fully disconnected from the USB and HDMI peripheral path; when the room PC hosts the meeting, the laptop can optionally share its HDMI content to the room PC via the HDMI SHARE output. Three USB 3.0 device ports accommodate cameras, videobars, and audio peripherals, while two HDMI 2.0 outputs serve the room display and content sharing independently. The TOGGLE ROOMS supports 4Kp60 in 16:9 and 5Kp30 in 21:9 widescreen formats over HDMI. Control is available via RS-232, IP, 2x GPI/relay inputs, and front-panel push button, with Q-SYS Designer plugin support for integrated control system deployments. The included 1.8-meter USB-C cable is tested for operation up to 10 meters with compatible third-party cables. Compatible with Crestron, Logitech, Lenovo, Poly, MAXHUB, Jabra, and Barco ClickShare Conference systems. The INOGENI MAESTRO software controller provides web-based device configuration, real-time status monitoring, and firmware management over LAN.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the TOGGLE ROOMS solve in a Teams Rooms or Zoom Rooms deployment?
A: In rooms with a permanent room PC running Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or a similar appliance, guest laptops cannot access the room’s cameras, microphones, and displays without manual cable swapping. The TOGGLE ROOMS provides a single USB-C connection point for the guest laptop, automatically routing all room peripherals to the laptop when selected, while fully disconnecting the room PC from the USB and HDMI path.
Q: Does the USB-C connection provide laptop charging?
A: Yes. The USB-C host port on the TOGGLE ROOMS delivers up to 100W of power delivery simultaneously with USB 3.0 data and DisplayPort alternate mode video, enabling a single cable to handle all connectivity and charging for compatible laptops.
Q: Can a laptop without USB-C use the TOGGLE ROOMS?
A: Yes. Each laptop host position also supports a USB-B data connection combined with a separate HDMI 2.0 video input, accommodating laptops that do not have USB-C or that use USB-B for peripheral control.
Q: What happens to the room PC when the laptop is selected?
A: When the laptop is selected as the active BYOM host, the room PC is completely disconnected from the USB and HDMI peripheral path. Optionally, the laptop’s HDMI output can be routed to the room PC via the HDMI SHARE output for content ingestion into the room PC’s conferencing application.
Q: How is the TOGGLE ROOMS integrated into Q-SYS?
A: INOGENI provides a native plugin for Q-SYS Designer software that enables switching control, status monitoring, and configuration of the TOGGLE ROOMS from within a Q-SYS design. This reduces integration time and eliminates the need for custom control scripting.
Q: What USB peripherals can be connected to the TOGGLE ROOMS?
A: The TOGGLE ROOMS provides three USB 3.0/2.0 device ports. Any UVC-compliant USB camera, USB videobar, USB speakerphone, or USB microphone can be connected. Tested compatible devices include products from Logitech, Cisco, Poly, Jabra, Bose, Vaddio, Huddly, and others.
Q: Is the TOGGLE ROOMS TAA-compliant for government procurement?
A: Yes. The TOGGLE ROOMS is manufactured in Canada and is TAA-compliant, qualifying it for U.S. federal government and federally-funded procurement programs.
Q: What is the maximum cable length for the USB-C laptop connection?
A: The included USB-C cable is 1.8 meters. INOGENI has tested compatible third-party USB-C cables up to 10 meters for installations where the TOGGLE ROOMS is rack-mounted or located away from the presenter position. A list of tested cables is available on the INOGENI support site.
