It connects a standard XLR microphone, mixer or audio source to the camera's mini-XLR input so audio travels in the same NDI|HX stream as the video. It is the same adapter Vizrt includes in the PTZ3 PLUS and PTZ3 UHD PLUS box.

What does the Vizrt PTZ3MXLRXLRA do?

Vizrt PTZ3 PLUS cameras carry a mini-XLR audio input alongside a 3.5mm stereo line input. Vizrt states the mini-XLR port supports powered and non-powered microphones, with +48V phantom power enabled through the web interface using a two-step confirmation, and that the audio is embedded in the camera's NDI|HX stream.

The adapter converts that compact connector to full-size XLR so you can run standard microphone cable from a lavalier receiver, podium mic or small mixer. This keeps audio and video together on one network cable into a production switcher such as the TriCaster Mini.
