It drives distributed speaker systems in compact paging and background music installations.

How does it work?

The balanced line-level input may also be connected unbalanced, and the front-panel gain control accommodates both consumer and professional levels. Separate 70 V and 100 V outputs drive matching speakers in a distributed sound system. Audio levels that could clip the output are compressed using two dynamic time constants designed to preserve aural transparency, while normal levels pass unaffected so the compressor does not increase feedback potential during paging. RDL states the FP-PA20A is plenum rated per the UL 2043 standard. It is powered from a 24 Vdc supply such as the RDL PS-24KX 24 Vdc 1 A power supply, and FLAT-PAK modules can be rack mounted with the RDL FP-HRA or the FP-RRA rack adapter.

What are the key features?

20 W constant voltage — The amplifier delivers 20 W RMS at 70 V or 100 V for distributed speaker lines.

Dual output taps — Both 70 V and 100 V outputs are provided to suit the speaker system.

Integral compressor — Two-time-constant compression controls clipping while preserving aural transparency.

Plenum rated — RDL lists the module as plenum rated per UL 2043.

LED indicators — A red PEAK LED shows compressor activity and a green LED shows power.
