It decodes NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX, HX2 and HX3 as well as SRT, RTSP, RTMP, HLS, HTTP and MPEG-TS streams. Installed in a Modator 2U chassis, it puts up to ten decoder outputs in two rack units for control rooms, overflow spaces and campus distribution.

How does the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module work?

The module installs in a Modator 2U slot and draws power and cooling from the chassis. It discovers NDI sources on the network, decodes the selected stream with SpeedHQ, H.264 or H.265 video and AAC or MP3 audio, and outputs HDMI to the connected display, with output resolution, deinterlacing, on-screen display and audio mapping configured per module.

Each module has its own network connection and web interface and is also managed through the chassis touchscreen, Magewell Control Hub or HTTP APIs. Because modules are hot-swappable, one decoder can be replaced while the rest keep running.

What are the key features of the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module?

NDI and stream decoding — Decodes NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX/HX2/HX3, SRT, RTSP, RTMP, HLS and MPEG-TS.

HDMI output — Feeds displays, projectors and switchers from the network.

Hot-swappable — Replaces without powering down the chassis.

Rack density — Ten decoders per 2RU chassis with redundant power.

Central management — Web UI, chassis touchscreen, Control Hub and HTTP APIs.

Where is the Magewell Pro Convert for NDI to HDMI Module typically used?

Government space

Broadcast studio

Auditorium

All-hands room

Technical Specifications

<colgroup>
<col style="width:40%">
<col style="width:60%">
</colgroup>

Decoded streams

NDI High Bandwidth, NDI HX/HX2/HX3, SRT, RTSP, RTMP, HLS, HTTP, MPEG-TS

Codecs

SpeedHQ, H.264, H.265; AAC, MP3

Video output

HDMI

Network

Gigabit Ethernet per module

Management

Web UI, Modator touchscreen, Magewell Control Hub, HTTP APIs

Host chassis

Magewell Modator 2U (required)

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work without the chassis?
No. It requires the Magewell Modator 2U.
