It accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI with loop-through and 16 channels of embedded audio, and streams and records at up to 1080p60. It suits churches, venues and meeting rooms with SDI cameras that need easy, app-controlled streaming.

How does the Magewell Ultra Stream SDI work?

The unit accepts SD, HD and 3G-SDI up to 2K60 with 8, 10 or 12-bit color and passes the signal on through a BNC loop-through. It encodes H.264 at up to 1080p60 with AAC audio taken from the SDI signal or the 3.5 mm microphone input, and extracts SDI audio to a 3.5 mm headphone output for monitoring. It streams over RTMP, RTMPS or RTSP with native YouTube, Facebook and Twitch support.

Recordings save as MP4 to a USB flash drive or a paired phone while the unit streams, with timed recording options. Staff run it from the front button or the Magewell mobile app over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It connects by Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a USB cellular modem and runs from its AC adapter.

What are the key features of the Magewell Ultra Stream SDI?

One-button SDI streaming — Streams an SDI camera to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or RTMP without a computer.

3G-SDI loop-through — Passes the SDI signal on to a monitor or recorder.

16-channel SDI audio — Accepts embedded audio and adds a microphone input.

Stream and record together — Records MP4 to USB or a phone while streaming.

Headphone monitoring — Extracts SDI audio to a 3.5 mm headphone output.

App control — Runs from a phone app over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Where is the Magewell Ultra Stream SDI typically used?

House of worship

Training room

Auditorium

Multi-purpose room

Technical Specifications

<colgroup>
<col style="width:40%">
<col style="width:60%">
</colgroup>

Video input

SD/HD/3G-SDI BNC; up to 2K60; 8/10/12-bit; BNC loop-through

Audio input

16-ch SDI embedded; 3.5 mm microphone

Audio output

3.5 mm headphone

Encoding

H.264 up to 1080p60, AAC audio

Streaming

RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP; YouTube, Facebook, Twitch

Recording

MP4 to USB flash drive or paired phone

Network

Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, USB cellular modem, Bluetooth

Size

94.2 × 94.2 × 22.3 mm

Operating temp

0 to 40 °C

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need a computer?
No. It streams and records on its own, controlled from its button or a phone app.

Can it pass SDI to another device?
Yes.
