kramer-20-80604090-swt3-21-hu-tr
Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR – 2x1 4K60 USB-C/HDMI Switcher Extender

What is the Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR switcher extender?

The Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR is a 2x1 4K60 USB-C/HDMI auto-switcher with an HDMI output and a long-range HDBaseT 3.0 port that can be set to transmit or receive. It extends 4K60 4:4:4 HDMI, USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and I/O signals up to 40m (131ft) over twisted pair, and switches room USB peripherals such as a camera and microphone to the active host. That makes it a BYOD hybrid meeting room switcher that can sit at either the presenter end or the display end of the room.

How does the Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR work?

A presenter connects over USB-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode with USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging up to 60W) or HDMI with USB. The unit auto-switches to the active source and also routes the connected USB peripherals to that host, so the laptop running Teams or Zoom picks up the room camera, microphone and speakers along with the display. Because the HDBaseT 3.0 port is field-configurable as an output or an input, the same model can act as the transmitter at the table or the receiver at the display, and Kramer K-Pair support simplifies pairing with a compatible unit.

Video is switched at 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 with 18Gbps bandwidth and HDCP 2.3, with Kramer I-EDIDPro EDID processing and HDMI mirroring to the local HDMI output. Multichannel audio is carried over HDBaseT and also de-embedded to a balanced stereo line output. The built-in control gateway, bidirectional RS-232 and IR extension and display on/off control let the system power the display automatically and control other room devices. The unit is housed in a MegaTOOLS aluminum enclosure with a 20V DC power adapter.

Pair it with the Kramer EXT3-21-XR-TR HDBaseT 3.0 switcher extender for HDBaseT 3.0 systems, or compare it with the Kramer VP-440X USB-C switcher/scaler.

What are the key features of the Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR?

Hybrid-meeting switching — Switches room USB peripherals to the active host along with the video.

USB-C with 60W charging — One cable carries video, USB and power to a presenter's laptop.

Configurable HDBaseT 3.0 port — Set as transmit or receive to deploy at either end of the room.

4K60 4:4:4 video — 18Gbps switching with HDCP 2.3 and I-EDIDPro EDID handling.

Signal extension — Extends HDMI, USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and I/O up to 40m over twisted pair.

Audio de-embedding — Balanced stereo line output for a room amplifier or DSP.

Display on/off and control gateway — Automates display power and controls room devices.

Secured, managed operation — Secured network connection and comprehensive management.

Where is the Kramer SWT3-21-HU-TR typically used?

Conference room

Huddle room

Training room

Boardroom

Technical Specifications

<colgroup>
<col style="width:38%">
<col style="width:62%">
</colgroup>

Inputs

1 USB-C (DP Alt Mode, PD 3.0); 1 HDMI; 1 HDBT (when configured to receive)

Outputs

1 HDBT; 1 HDMI; 1 balanced stereo audio line

Ports

2 USB 3.2 host; 3 USB 3.2 device; 1 RS-232; 1 IR; 2 GPIO

Max Resolution

4K@60Hz (4:4:4)

Max Data Rate

18Gbps (6Gbps per graphic channel)

Content Protection

HDCP 2.3

Extension Distance

Up to 40m (131ft) using Kramer HDBaseT cables

USB

USB 3.2 up to 10Gbps; USB 2.0 up to 480Mbps

Audio Output

Max 15dBu; 500Ω; 20Hz–20kHz; THD+N 0.002% @1kHz; S/N –93dB

Power

20V DC adapter; max power 120W; USB-C charging up to 60W

Enclosure

MegaTOOLS, aluminum, fan ventilation

Weight

1.9 lbs (0.9 kg) approx.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the SWT3-21-HU-TR be used at the display end?

Yes.
