kramer-20-80589090-swt3-41-u
Kramer SWT3-41-U – 4x1 USB 3.2 Host Switcher

What is the Kramer SWT3-41-U USB switcher?

The Kramer SWT3-41-U is a 4x1 USB 3.2 switcher with two USB-C and two USB-B host ports, built to share a meeting room's USB peripherals between up to four computers. It auto-switches to the active USB host, so the room camera, microphone and other connected peripherals move to whichever laptop or room PC is in use. It is a simple way to upgrade an AV meeting room into a hybrid meeting room.

How does the Kramer SWT3-41-U work?

Host computers connect to the two USB-C ports, which also support USB Power Delivery 3.0, or to the two USB-B ports. The SWT3-41-U detects active USB signals and automatically connects the integrated USB hub to that host. Four device ports, three USB-A and one USB-C, accept the room's conferencing peripherals such as cameras, microphones and speakerphones, with USB 3.2 data rates up to 10Gbps.

For control, the switcher has an Ethernet port for LAN connection, an RS-232 port and two GPIO pins, so a control system or wall button can force a specific host. A built-in intelligent control gateway, secured operation and cost-effective management tools support enterprise deployment. Power comes from the included 20V DC, 6A adapter.

To extend USB to a remote location, see the Kramer KDS-USB2 USB 2.0 extension kit; for a combined video and USB switcher, see the Kramer EXT3-21-XR-TR HDMI/USB switcher extender.

What are the key features of the Kramer SWT3-41-U?

Four USB hosts — Two USB-C and two USB-B host inputs for laptops and room PCs.

Auto-switching — Peripherals follow the active USB host automatically.

USB 3.2 hub — Four device ports with data rates up to 10Gbps.

USB-C Power Delivery — PD 3.0 on the USB-C host ports.

Flexible control — Ethernet, RS-232 and GPIO for room control integration.

Secured operation — Built for managed enterprise networks.

Where is the Kramer SWT3-41-U typically used?

Conference room

Huddle room

Training room

Boardroom

Technical Specifications

<colgroup>
<col style="width:38%">
<col style="width:62%">
</colgroup>

Host Inputs

2 USB 3.2 & PD 3.0 hosts (USB-C); 2 USB 3.2 hosts (USB-B)

Device Outputs

3 USB 3.2 devices (USB-A); 1 USB 3.2 device (USB-C)

Ports

1 Ethernet (RJ-45); 1 RS-232 (3-pin terminal block); 2 GPIO (2-pin terminal block)

USB

1 integrated USB hub; up to 10Gbps

Power

20V DC, 6A adapter (included); consumption 3.8A; max power 80W

Weight

2.0 lbs (0.9 kg) approx.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the SWT3-41-U switch?

It switches a set of USB peripherals between up to four USB hosts; it does not switch video.

Can a control system select the host?

Yes.
