Christie's documentation lists it as the 2D aperture 66 mm filter in its optical filter instructions and as the mono 66 mm filter in the Sapphire setup guide. It is the filter you fit when a Sapphire projector is not running as one eye of an Infitec color comb 3D pair.

What does the Christie 177-104106-01 do?

The Sapphire 4K40-RGBH accepts three IFH optical filters: left-eye 3D, right-eye 3D and this aperture filter. Swapping between them lets a venue move the same Christie Sapphire 4K40-RGBH between Infitec 3D and standard operation, which is useful for attractions and visualization spaces that run both 3D and 2D content.

Installation is a short procedure for a qualified installer: power down, open the service door, disconnect the IFH harness, remove the existing filter, seat the new filter flush on its alignment pins and reconnect the harness. Christie stresses gloved handling and a clean optic, and recommends a Hawkeye sensor-to-screen calibration if this filter type has not been calibrated on the system before. Sapphire stores LiteLOC calibration by filter type, so switching back and forth does not lose calibration data.

For dual-projector Infitec 3D, see the companion left-eye and right-eye filters, or the TAA-compliant Sapphire for government projects.

What are the key features of the Christie 177-104106-01?

66 mm IFH format — fits the Sapphire 4K40-RGBH Intelligent Filter Holder.

2D / mono operation — the filter Christie lists for non-Infitec use of the projector.

Interchangeable with 3D filters — swap with left-eye or right-eye Infitec filters as content requires.

Calibration retained — Sapphire stores LiteLOC calibration per filter type and line voltage.

Field installable — two screws and one harness connection in the service compartment.

Where is the Christie 177-104106-01 typically used?

Auditorium

Multi-purpose room

Training room

Broadcast studio

Technical Specifications

<colgroup>
<col style="width:42%">
<col style="width:58%">
</colgroup>

Part number

177-104106-01

Type

Aperture optical filter (2D / mono)

Size

66 mm

Mounting

Intelligent Filter Holder (IFH)

Compatible projector

Sapphire 4K40-RGBH

Frequently Asked Questions

When do I need the aperture filter?

Fit it when the Sapphire projector is not being used as the left or right eye of an Infitec 3D pair.

Can I swap it with the 3D filters?

Yes.
